Jake Hill — They’re Here

Run from the rays the sun goes black
Melt in the shade the meadows crack
Can’t bear the weight up on my back
I hide my face from the attack
They’re here and I can’t stop shaking
Fear quickly overtakes me
Panic grips my nerves, the sound of sirens can be heard
I’m doomed to a cold dark room
I can hear them shuffle through the attic
Automatic will not save me this time
I can’t seem to calm my mind
As they peer through the windows
Red lights shining, hold my breath
Heart rate still climbing, wait for death
I grip my chest, they found the steps
Where are you at God
What have we done to deserve this
Run from the serpents

Still I feel the heat from their machines seep through the walls
I hear them creeping through the halls
The door shakes, lock breaks
I run and I run
Under a sun that’s no longer familiar
I don’t feel safe
I’ll just drown in the lake
That I have come to
Nowhere to run to
I cannot undo
All of this hell ring the bell
I am defeated I bow to their feet
Prey to the beast
That I cannot beat
That I cannot beat
That I cannot beat
