Текст Richard Schröder — After the Cameras Are Gone
Early one morning Hurricane Katrina
Slammed the Gulf of Mexico
Just as they were digging out in New Orleans the
Flood waters hit when the levees broke
The media blitz was twenty-four seven
Footage of the wreckage everywhere you looked
The crews moved on to some other disaster
But they’re still living with the toll it took
After the cameras are gone
Does anybody care
That the pain and the suffering keeps coming on strong
When nobody’s watching
And the ratings die down
There’s people helping people
Get up of the ground
Yeah life goes on
After the cameras are gone
Shots rang out in Parkland Florida
Kids running for their lives
In those six minutes life got harder
For those lucky enough to survive
Every slamming door is a grim reminder
Of the seventeen students missing from their class
They’ll be dealing with the tragedy forever
But there’s hardly any coverage of the aftermath
After the cameras are gone
Does anybody care
That the pain and the suffering keeps coming on strong
When nobody’s watching
And the ratings die down
There’s people helping people
Get up of the ground
Yeah life goes on
After the cameras are gone
(Bridge) They came in boats with food and hope
Hammer’s and nails with their sleeves rolled up
And for those high school kids at the end of their rope
There’s no shortage of folks showing them love
After the cameras are gone
Does anybody care
That the pain and the suffering keeps coming on strong
When nobody’s watching
And the ratings die down
There’s people helping people
Get up of the ground
Yeah life goes on
After the cameras are gone
