Yesterday I went home
Or at least
The place it’s supposed to be
And you weren’t there
And I knew you wouldn’t be
The places I couldn’t help but see
We’re still there in suspended memory
It’s unspoken but always known
That a titan does not let go
Without slipping from forced command
Then the senses just seem to end*
There I am inside this town again
Reminded that it’s just a house
It’s just a street
There is nothing tethering my belief that
Something still waits here for me
And sometimes I really try
When I visit
To get what feels so lost
In the bedroom
Or the place where I grew up
Bed sits quiet and so is Ben*
My mom cooks breakfast while I sleep in
Still feels hollow
Like no end
And I realize and hope it ends
I found shelter
Blanket name*
Biking, driving fast down Holly* Street
Quill court* yelp on* and Market Street
Neighborhoods and where they lead
I am helpless now to be*
Tethering that neighboring
Oh I wish that I would let me go
So that I can finally let you go
If everyone’s supposed to leave
They will mock out* everything
At what point just won’t ya seem to—
Worn out
With nothing left as I try
Ah, yes, we will find
I’ll tune the —
Because who are you?
When you have nowhere by
And what is the place?
Without a flame by you*
